Do you need a Travel Agent? Maybe.

As a frequent traveler I have had experience with planning my own trips. Travel planning didn’t come that easy at first and was especially difficult for the more elaborate family vacations. Now, I have more confidence in my decisions having done it for many years. Even with all this experience, sometimes it is easier to have a travel agent do the planning for me so I can put my focus elsewhere and shoulder that stress on someone else.

Travel Agents Save You Time

Most travel agents are experts in travel planning. It is usually more than a job to them, travel is their passion. If you are planning a trip outside the U.S. or one with multiple stops, they will save you the days of researching and decision making and present you with just a few options custom-made for you. All you need to do is pick one which is useful for even the most indecisive person.

Hidden Travel Discounts

Rather than being lured by the latest ‘deal’ published by any number of advertisers, travel agents can identify travel packages that offer true value. Just because you see a deal posted on a website or flyer doesn’t mean it is without exclusions (e.g. that cheap Bahamas vacation only good during hurricane season). Travel agents are often to bundle air, hotel, transportation, and attractions to fit YOU and often get exclusive add-ons because of their professional affiliated to the hotel or resort. Your travel agent might also have coupons to use on offsite airport parking or rental cars or be able to reserve airport parking for you through their booking software.
When you are traveling to a new area it isn’t realistic or affordable to have a personal tour guide with you every step of the way making sure you don’t miss the really good stuff. Choosing an experienced agent that travels themselves is like having someone by your side during your trip. Many agencies specialize in travel to specific regions or in cruise or wedding travel. Their experience is perhaps the most valuable benefit that you get from using a travel agent to help you plan and book your trip.

Experience Matters

So, maybe you’ve taken enough trips that you can easily go online and book your flight to grandmas or a quick weekend in the Big Apple. But for the big trips where you are investing more time and money in the experience, it may be best to leave the hard work to a professional travel agent and give yourself a hassle-free vacation. To have a truly hassle-free start to your trip, begin with affordable and convenient offsite airport parking with complimentary and relaxing door-to-door shuttle service to the airport. Many airport parking lots offer airport parking reservations or guaranteed drive-up service with no airport parking reservations required.
